CHANDIGARH, Oct 27: Punjab University Teachers Association has proposed new short term courses at the Punjab University and has identified seven such quot;people-oriented coursesquot;.

Following the recommendations, the Dean University Instructions has forwarded the suggestions to all the departments. The courses include quot;Income Tax lawsquot;, quot;Rental Lawsquot;, quot;An introduction to the History and Culture of Punjabquot;, quot;Strategies for coping with everyday stressquot;, among others.

According to a statement by M Rajiv Lochan, secretary of PUTA, half the resources generated from these courses would be utilised for development of the university and the remaining for meeting the expenses of running the course.
