UPSC results
The results of the selection officers and stenographers Grade B and I in the limited departmental competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission UPSC in December 1997 have been announced. The copy of the result is available at the Press Information Bureau, Chiplunkar Bhavan, Shastri Road, Navi Peth.

RPI team n H. I. Mulla has been appointed Pune division President of the All India Republican Party Khobragade. Anthony Rannaware and Vaishali Chandane have been appointed president and general secretary of the Pune unit.

Meet at AFMC
Armed Forces Medical College AFMC, Pune, will host the 25th National Conference of Association of Clinical Biochemists of India from December 18 to 20. Director General of Union Health Services and Family Welfare Dr. S. P. Agarwal, will inaugurate the conference. B.J. Medical College Dean Dr. M. A. Phadke will inaugurate the scientific session.

Painting contest
Two hundred school and art college students participated in the spot painting competition organised by Chitrai Academy of Fine Arts on December 13. The first prize winners in different categories are Divya Garg, Ashish Nerlekar, Devyani Rao, Abhay Nagory, Nitin Yadav and Dinesh Kushwaha.

Postponed
Maharashtra Sales Tax Tribunal camp which was slated in Pune from December 14 to 18 has been postponed. Further dates will be announced later.

Nature camp
The World Wide Fund for Nature 8211; India will be organising a nature orientation camp, at the Kanhe National Park in Madhya Pradesh from december 27 to January 2. Experts from various fields will be accompanying the camp to give invaluable to the participants. Kanha is one of the best national parks known all over the world for sighting the tiger. Elephant rides, nature trials, bird watching, star gazing, jeep rides, nature games are some of the interesting activities which the camp will comprise.
