
PMC Court civil judge suspened
Civil Judge of Pune Municipal Corporation PMC Court Shiv Motria was today suspended by the Bombay High Court. He has been replaced by Civil Judge A S Apate. The reasons for the suspension could not be ascertained till late in the evening.
Judge Motria was about to start the proceedings of court when a sealed envelope containing his suspension orders was handed over to him. Joint District Judge and Additional Sessions Judge A S Rane had gone to the PMC Court to hand over the orders to Motria around 11.30 a.m. Motria left the court immediately after receiving the orders.
ACB to probe uniform scam
The investigations into irregularities into the school uniforms case has been transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau by Police Commissioner K K Kashyap.
Confirming this, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1 Ajit Patil said the case had been transferred 15 days back. The school uniforms scandal came to light when the then Municipal Commissioner Arun Bhatia had recommended the suspension of the school board. The school had purchased uniforms worth Rs 52.10 lakh and had tendered 90 per cent of the amount even though the uniforms had not been delivered. After Bhatia initiated an inquiry, an FIR was also filed.
1 killed in mishap
A man was killed and 10 injured on the Pune-Mumbai Road near Kshitij hotel in Balewadi when a luxury mini-bus overturned on Wednesday afternoon. The police have arrested the driver of the bus Sampat Kasur Phad.
