Last date for registration of voters today
With Thursday being the last date for registration of new voters, the whole process has been marred by confusion. Harried citizens complained about the mammoth 57 columns that have to be filled. Understanding the queries is proving to be difficult leading to further confusion.
Matters have worsened with eager citizens alleging that the officials were being rude and uncooperative. 8220;They are rejecting forms that have even a small column which has not been filled. But they are so confusing that it becomes difficult for us to understand,8221; said a citizen who had come to register himself as a voter.
Matters were compounded with code numbers of the assembly segments and polling centres not being put on display. Many fear that more than half the forms submitted will be rejected due to the prevailing confusion, denying them their right to vote.
