CHANDIGARH, Aug 17: The Punjab State Electricity Board Employees Struggle Committee has withdrawn the proposed strike on August 19 following talks with the authorities.
This was announced here today by the committee leaders including H. S. Minhas and Mukhwant Singh Sidhu after day long meeting with the PSEB management led by its chairman S. K. Tuteja.
The committee leaders said the management agreed to release arrears of pay revision in two instalments with the salary of August and September without pre-audit. The management would create 2,150 posts of different categories as per work load norms.
Other demands which the committee leaders claimed had been conceded include grant of Rs. 100 per month as risk allowance to linemen and Rs. 50 to assistant linemen. Shift duty allowance would also be granted to certain categories.
The work charged staff having 10 year service would be regularised. The wage Formulation Committee would finalise its recommendations by November 30 next.
