Praying for 100th 100

Even as Sachin Tendulkar sought divine intervention, presumably to get all the help for his 100th 100 he went to Kalighat temple after India's practice session

Even as Sachin Tendulkar sought divine intervention, presumably to get all the help for his 100th 100 he went to Kalighat temple after India8217;s practice session the Cricket Association of Bengal is doing its bit to encourage the maestro. The CAB has distributed 100 free passes to school children. These children will come to the match wearing T-shirts reading: Lets Pray For The Century of Centuries at Eden. The T-shirt will also have a Sachin Tendulkar picture. The CAB is also ready to celebrate if history is made. He Tendulkar is standing on the threshold of a great milestone and we will felicitate him in grand style should he get there, CAB joint-secretary Biswarup Dey said.

Rampaul doubtful

West Indies received a setback when strike bowler Ravi Rampaul was hospitalised after suffering from stomach bug. He was later taken to the CMRI hospital where he has been kept under observation. Rampaul is likely to be replaced by Kemar Roach. The West Indies are also mulling on playing an extra spinner along with Devendra Bishoo and in that case off spinner Shane Shillingford might make it to the playing XI for the second Test.

No takers for Test

Eden Gardens witnessed a record low turnout for an ODI,featuring India,on Diwali eve. This time it could be a record low for Test as well. Less than 1,000 tickets have been sold till Sunday and the CAB officials are hoping that India bats first. The match will be played on weekdays and if India don8217;t bat first we can see large swathes of empty seats on first day. However,we expect a decent turnout during India8217;s innings, CAB treasurer Bablu Ganguly said.
