Still bitter

Two massive wins in two matches but Australia coach Ric Charlesworth is still bitter about a penalty stroke appeal turned down by the video umpire in the first match against England. Asked to comment on the referral system,he said: Its good that we have this system, but we also need competent umpires in the box to make decisions. We were clearly denied a penalty stroke and that cost us a point.

Elected captain

Having seen a bitter captaincy feud in the run-up to the World Cup,the Indians might learn a lesson or two from the Aussies. The Kookaburras arent playing with one designated captain but have fielded three different skippers Jamie Dwyer,Mark Knowles and Liam De Young in three matches. The coach said that the only say in who should lead the team is that of the players and they elect their own captain before the match.

The missing e

With Spain beating him five times during the game, the Indian goalkeepers performance came under intense scrutiny. A few, however, seemed more perturbed by his jersey than his show under the bar. At the back of it,his name was spelt as Sreejsh and not Sreejesh. Maybe it was a spelling error, but if it has something to do with numerology,he needs second thoughts about the missing e.
