Adelaide: Despite losing the Test series 2-0,the West Indies are looking at the positives from their Australia tour. I think people look at us now and think a bit differently,based on how we went about this series,even though we lost 2-0, West Indies captain Chris Gayle said. I definitely know from Australias point of view weve gained a bit more respect from them. They know it wasnt going to be a pushover,and only in the first match did they actually walk over us.

PCB did not want Lanka to play in Lahore: Butt

Karachi: PCB chairman Ejaz Butt has said they were not in favour of hosting the fateful Test match in Lahore in March during which the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked by terrorists. Butt claimed that they had suggested the government to hold that match in Karachi as the security condition in the Punjab region was not good but nobody listened to them.

Hanif praises Tendulkar

Karachi: Former Pakistan captain and batting legend Hanif Mohammad has termed Sachin Tendulkar as the cricketing jewel of subcontinent and said the 36-year-old right-hander was destined to break many more records in the coming years. His Tendulkars hunger and passion as a batsman and for the game is amazing. I still make it a point to sit down and watch him bat. He is a cricketing jewel of the subcontinent, he said.

Younis back in action

Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan returned to play for his domestic side Habib Bank in the final of Quaid-e-Azam trophy on Monday. He,however,had a mixed outing on the opening day,dismissed cheaply for seven runs,but chipped in with his medium fast bowling to claim two important wickets. It was Youniss first appearance since he pulled out from the New Zealand tour.

Aus behaviour under scanner

Perth: Australian players will be reminded of their obligation to uphold the spirit of cricket after four members of the team were fined for bad behaviour during the recent series against the West Indies. Captain Ricky Ponting admitted he was not proud of his players behaviour. Im not proud of the fact. Im sure the players arent proud of the fact either that weve had three guys reported in the one game, he said. I know all the guys are a bit embarrassed and know they have overstepped the mark, he was quoted as saying in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Hobart: Having a doosra in ones repertoire is essential for any off-spinner to survive in international cricket,Pakistans Saeed Ajmal said after he took four wickets during Pakistans three-day tour match against Tasmania. In these times Test scoring is very fast, he said. Ten years ago Tests were slow and easy with all-day batting for about 210 runs. If you do not have variety in bowling,you cannot survive in international cricket.
