Short camp for Asia Cup

Mumbai: Members of the Indian team for the Asia Cup would assemble in Chennai for a short two-day camp starting June 11 ahead of their departure to Sri Lanka on June 13. Seven members of the Asia Cup team Suresh Raina,Virat Kohli,Rohit Sharma,Pragyan Ojha,Ravindra Jadeja,Ashok Dinda and R Ashwin will land in Mumbai on June 14 and take a connecting flight to Lanka.

Pawar has no RCB stake

Bangalore: IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore owner Vijay Mallya has rubbished reports of Sharad Pawar having a stake in his franchise. After Pawar admitted to having 0.05 per cent shares in the UB Group,owners of RCB,Mallya ridiculed suggestions that having stake in his company amounted to being a part owner of the IPL team.

Felt caged: Symonds

London: The grind of international cricket made Andrew Symonds feel caged and the Australian all-rounder says his only regret is signing a contract that had a keep off drinking clause in it. Losing my contract didnt hurt me,because of what playing for Australia had become. I wasnt enjoying it. I felt like I was in a cage. Always under the microscope, he said.

Mumbai cricketer dies

Mumbai: Former Mumbai cricketer PK (Joe) Kamath passed away on Monday. He was 81. A bachelor,Kamath,who played 18 first-class games in the 1950s and scored 816 runs,later became a renowned coach,and was in charge of the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team when Sachin Tendulkar made his debut in 1988-89.
