President notifies poll process

NEW DELHI, AUG 11: The electoral process for the thirteenth Lok Sabha has begun with the President issuing the notification for 146 Parliamentary constituencies which go to polls in the first phase of elections on September five.

Elections for 225 Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra will also be going to the polls in the first phase, along with the 13 Parliamentary constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, 26 in Gujarat, 24 in Maharashtra, 13 in Punjab, 10 in Haryana, 15 in Karnataka and 19 in Tamil Nadu among others.

One-day polling will be held in Goa, Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab along with the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar islands, Chandigarh, Pondicherry, Dadra and Naqar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Delhi.
