
PANCHKULA, Aug 11: Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party district unit met here recently, under the chairmanship of party state vice-president Hans Raj Swan.
Party media cell in charge, Rekha Sharma, announced that the party8217;s poll campaign would be launched very soon. The district general secretary, Shyam Lal Sachdeva, said funds would be collected on a statewise basis and each district will spend its own funds.
Regarding booth management, it was decided that shakti kenders, each with a manager, would be set up. Among those present at the meeting were Nardev Sharma and Bastram Tuli. State vice-president of the party, H.R. Swan, has appealed to Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala to consider the genuine demand of the BJP to fight for a minimum of six seats from the state in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and therby strengthen the hands of Vajpayee to form the government at the Centre, the ultimate aim of all the alliance partners today. He said the BJP would provide Chautala all the necessary support in the Assembly elections in the state.
