PGI doctors protest

CHANDIGARH, Feb 15: Continuing with their steady and silent agitation against the government8217;s indifference toward their demands, faculty members of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research sported black badges for the second day today.

As many as 250 faculty members, including ad hoc doctors, have been reporting for duty since Saturday and will continue to protest silently till some future course of action is decided. At a general body meeting of the association today, the lack of government8217;s response was discussed while doctors debated on other ways to register their protest. 8220;We have to exercise great restraint since we do not want our work to suffer and the public put to unnecessary inconvenience,8221; said a faculty member.
