
Leaders leave RJD
KURUKSHETRA: Haryana unit of Rashtriya Janata Dal RJD president Gurdial Singh Saini, with his supporters, today resigned from the primary membership of the party. Those who resigned with him are state Rjd general secretary Hoshiar Singh Dangi, secretary Raj Kumar Arya and others, Saini said.

HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader Y S Rajasekhar Reddy on Saturday strongly criticised the election manifesto of the United Front for stating that it would sit in the Opposition rather than take the support of Congress or back a Congress-led government in the event of a hung verdict in the coming Lok Sabha polls. He said that it was clear from the UF manifesto that it had virtually given up hopes of winning the polls.
Kannadiga issue
BANGALORE: Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha on Saturday released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls, pledging to fight for merger of Kannada speaking areas in neighbouring states into Karnataka and the state8217;s rights on theCauvery and Krishna water sharing issues. Kannada chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj, MLA, alleged that all national parties had failed to safeguard Karnataka8217;s interests in the river disputes.
Hurt feelings
HYDERABAD: The hurt feelings of NTR-TDP president Lakshmi Parvathi over seat sharing with BJP came to the fore when she decided to leave for Srikakulam to launch the party campaign on Saturday even as Vajpayee is scheduled to address a public meeting in Hyderabad in the evening. BJP is contesting 38 seats while four seats were left for NTR-TDP in addition to the Hanumakonda Assembly seat.
No miracle
HUBLI: leader of Lok Shakthi Ramakrishna Hegde on Saturday ridiculed JD leader Gowda for saying that the LS election would throw up a miracle in the state. Before leaving for Sirsi to address an election campaign along with Bharatiya Janata Party president L K Advani, Hegde said sarcastically, 8220;he Gowda is capable of performing such a miracle. Hope you will understand.8221;
