UF okay for Gujral seat

NEW DELHI: The United Front on Monday is understood to have endorsed Janata Dal8217;s decision to field Prime Minister I K Gujral from Jalandhar in Punjab where Akali Dal, an ally of Bharatiya Janata Party, has offered support to him. The front8217;s core committee also discussed seat sharing among front partners.

CPI in Bihar

PATNA: The CPI on Monday announced that it would contest 17 of the 54 LS seats in Bihar. A decision to this effect was taken by the party8217;s Bihar State Council and executive committee at a meeting here, CPI sources said.
