PUNE, Oct 26: The proposed one-way traffic plan at Pimpri Shagun chowk is to be implemented shortly for which the traffic department has invited suggestions and objections from the citizens within the next ten days.
According to the proposed plan, one-way traffic is proposed from Indira Gandhi overbridge to Arya Samaj chowk.
Vehicular traffic from Arya Samaj chowk towards Indira Gandhi bridge is proposed to be banned. Instead, the vehicles will have to go via Karachi sweet mart and River Road to reach Bhatnagar junction and from from there on proceed towards Indira Gandhi overbridge.
One-way traffic has been proposed from Shagun chowk towards Pimpri railway station. There is no change in the present one-way traffic from Shagun chowk towards main bazaar and river road.
Parking restrictions have also been proposed in the plan. Parking for only five autorickshaws has been provided at one corner of the Shagun chowk. Parking for four wheelers has been provided along one side of the road near the rickshaw stand. While parking of all vehicles has been banned on the opposite side of the road, a parking lot for five six-seater autorickshaws has been provided opposite Deluxe chowk.
