Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday gave a clean chit to party leader and state Revenue Minister Chhagan Bhujbal for his outbursts on the Telgi issue and sharing a dais with politicians from other parties.
Pawar said that it was normal for a person to share the dais with politicians from other parties on his birthday. 8220;There is nothing wrong in that. I have shared a platform with Vajpayee,8221; he said.
Referring to Bhujbal8217;s outbursts that the NCP leadership did not express faith in him when his name was linked with Abdul Karim Telgi, the kingpin of the multicrore stamp paper racket, Pawar said: 8220;I can understand how it feels, sometimes the leadership has to take some decisions,8221; he said. 8220;I know the pangs and how he must be feeling. There is nothing improper.8221;
Pawar said he did not think that Bhujbal would desert the NCP. Pawar was reacting to questions on Bhujbal8217;s recent birthday bash where the latter shared the dais with BJP leader Gopinath Munde and Peasants and Workers8217; Party PWP leader Jayant Patil. Munde and Patil both OBC leaders like Bhujbal had wished him well and said that if OBCs teamed up, it would create an 8220;earthquake8221; in the state. Speaking on the occasion, Bhujbal had lamented that his party leadership did not show trust in him when his name cropped up in the Telgi scam.
