VADODARA, Sept 22: Following complaints by LPG consumers, the district supply office has asked all gas dealers to stop forcing consumers into buying gas stoves and immediately release LPG cylinders on a consumer8217;s turn.

According to district supply officer D G Khachar, an information to this regard has come from Gandhinagar following several complaints by consumers throughout the State alleging that gas dealers forced them to buy stoves from their outlets. According to Khachar this was deliberately done by several dealers to rake in money from the sale of stoves and other accessories like tubes as well.

Khachar said several dealers selling LPG cylinders deliberately delayed cylinder supply or directly forced the consumer to buy the stove as well. 8220;We will inform the consumers to immediately inform us if a dealer forces them, and tell the dealers to refrain from this illegal act,8221; he said, and added that the dealers found guilty will be dealt with sternly under the Licencing Order of the State government.
