Madanpura thrash IG: Mohammad Arif struck thrice to help Madanpura Sports Club down Indian Gymkhana (IG) 4-1, in a WIFA division II C league match at the Cooperage Grounds today. Ansari Rafiq completed the rout for the winners. Jude Patel brought down the margin for IG Park Young Stars got a walkover after Celtic Boys failed to turn up for their Division III D league tie. In a Div III C, IDBI too got a walkover after Allies Sports Club played truant.

Mayur wins: Mayur Mehta of Mumbai won the 43rd Sunk Rock to Gateway of India swimming race conducted by the Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association today. He clocked 38 minutes and 21 seconds, two seconds faster than Avinash Kriplani also of Mumbai (38:23). Sandeep Verma finished third.
