PUNE, Sept 20: The traffic wing of Pune police is considering proposals for new curbs in Turf Club, Inspection Bungalow, Ramoshi Gate, Pulgate and Parvati areas to streamline traffic.

The road linking the Arjun Road junction with the Turf Club corner is likely to be converted into a one-way with entry for only those vehicles heading toward the Turf Club junction.

Vehicular parking is likely to be allowed on alternate sides of the Smita Patil Path, a lane linking the Alankar Cinema chowk with the Inspection Bungalow chowk, on alternate days.

Similar curbs are likely to be imposed on the lane adjacent to the Surbhi Hotel on Pune-Satara Road and the stretch of East Street between the Khanya Maruti Chowk near Pulgate and Pandol Apartments.

Entry of heavy vehicles is likely to be banned totally on the stretch of Shahu Maharaj Road between Hotel Panchami and Gajanan Maharaj chowk, the road linking the Hotel Shagun near Bhapkar Petrol Pump with the Tavre Colony Road and the Kaka Halwai Estate Road near the Bhapkar Petrol Pump.

Vehicular parking is likely to be banned totally along the stretch of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Road between the Dhole Patil chowk (Hotel Seven Loves chowk) and the Ramoshigate chowk. Vehicular parking is likely to be banned totally in a 50 meter area in front of Cafe Sadanand and Sai Baba Restaurant at Pulgate.

Objections to these proposals should be sent to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) on Sadhu Vaswani Road within ten days, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vasantrao Patil.
