Toxic teaser yashYash's character Toxic releases on March 19.

The release of Yash-starrer Toxic’s teaser on his birthday raised a lot of eyebrows and created some controversy for its explicit scenes. The scene that shows Yash’s character Raya engaged in sexual activities with a female character had the Aam Aadmi Party’s Women’s Wing submit a formal complaint to the Karnataka State Women’s Commission. Now, a report in India Today states that the team of Toxic is yet to submit any assets to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

CBFC certifies the content that is played in theatres or television, and anything that is streamed on YouTube or other social media platforms does not require any clearance from them. The report stated that sources from CBFC have shared that they are yet to receive any trailer, teaser, or any other clip from the film. The film, starring Yash, is due for release on March 19.

On Monday, AAP state secretary Usha Mohan said in a letter to the Women’s Commission that Toxic’s teaser contains “obscene and explicit” content, which could harm the “social well-being of women and children”. She also said it was released on YouTube without any age-related warning, and claimed it “degrades the dignity of women” and “insults Kannada culture.”
