A group of Naxalites allegedly beheaded a tribal, suspecting him to be a police informer, near Savargaon in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Friday, police said. Around 15 armed Naxalites dragged Alal Lagatu Kantigal (42) out of his house early in the morning and beheaded him, police said. The ultras also fired a few rounds in the air before fleeing from the spot. Meanwhile, a Maoist was killed in an encounter with police in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred when a police team retaliated to a Naxal attack. Some other ultras were injured, but managed to escape.
