November 2: Tomorrow’S court proceedings in London will determine how long it will take for Mumbai police to extradite music director Nadeem, the prime accused in the Gulshan Kumar murder case, Mumbai police commissioner Ronald Mendonca told Express Newsline.
Mendonca explained that the crown prosecution lawyers would move the court in London tomorrow to start the process of extradition.
The court will decide whether the necessary orders have to be passed straightaway, or another date of hearing needs to be declared.
Mendonca, however, assured that the Mumbai police have a strong case at their disposal against Nadeem. The police commissioner observed that an impression had been conveyed by media hype and attention that the two-member Mumbai police team would be bringing Nadeem back in a jiffy overnight.
Meanwhile, Nadeem’s long-time partner in music direction, Shravan, declined to make any comment on the extradition proceedings, saying the matter is sub-judice. Asked if he had received any message from Nadeem, Shravan said, “I have not spoken to him recently on the telephone, though I know from reading newspapers that a Mumbai police team is already in London in connection with the proceedings.”
