
For fitness guru Mickey Mehta, who is busy training the next batch of Miss India contestants, home is where water is. Starting his day at six in the morning, Mickey starts every morning training the 15-member cricket team of Banque Credit Agricole IndoSuez.
The rest of the day is spent shuttling between one swimming pool to another.
The personal trainer of Mumbai8217;s who8217;s who, Mickey8217;s client list includes people like actress Suman Ranganathan, Miss India8217;s Diana Hayden, Manpreet Brar and Lymraina D8217;Souza, and Dr Mukesh Batra. quot;My fitness training and philosophy encompasses all the physicality toward a holistic treatment of a person 8212; in totality,quot; he says.
Eighteen years in the profession and holding a world record for the fastest swimming tutor he has taught swimming in less than an hour, Mickey believes that swimming is the second best fitness regime in the universe. The first being Hatha-yoga. So, it is not surprising that when he is not in the swimming pool, he is busy beside one, trainingothers. His day is divided between the Willingdon Gymkhana, Bombay Gym, Breach Candy, Body Rhythm, Hotel Golden Manor and the Worli Police pool. quot;I feel at home in and around a swimming pool, as water is the most spiritual element of nature,quot; he says. Mickey often meditates in water, which he says is far different from regular meditation.
