
The Prasad Chikitsa Charitable Trust of Ganeshpuri, Thane, in partnership with Shri Bhimeshwar Sadguru Nityanand Sanstha sponsored rehabilitation camps on December 20 at Ganeshpuri.
The camps were conducted by the District Rehabilitation Centre of Virar along with Dr Sumit Kar, three medics and six volunteers from Prasad Chikitsa. They offered treatment to people with debilitating conditions, including polio, cerebral palsy, severe sight and hearing losses, and surgery referrals to the District Rehabilitation Centre8217;s surgeons. Follow-up treatment for these patients is being done by Prasad Chikitsa8217;s Shri Muktananda Mobile Hospital.

G R GUJAR has taken over charge as Director, Industrial Safety amp; Health, Maharashtra State, Mumbai, with effect from December 1 on superannuation from former director H N Mirashi, who retired on November 30. Gujar has over 30 years of experience in the field of industrial safety. He was deputed for the study of Occupational Safety and Health at Ballarat College of Advance Education VIC, Australia in 1984. He has also been a member of the Safety Review Committee of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Safety Norms Committee of the state government and Bureau of Indian Standards and Kanga Committee on Disaster Management. He is presently chairperson of the Second Environment Committee, Government of Maharashtra.
Inauguration
The Indo-American Cardiovascular Centre was formally inaugurated at Hurkisondas Nurrotamdas Hospital on December 18. The centre has been set up by Cardiovascular Specialists8217; CVS, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Biotechnology Internationale USA LTD. Said Dr Khushal Patil, CEO of the centre, 8220;The centre will pioneer a new approach in the treatment of Peripheral Vascular diseases. The IACVC has a vascular laboratory which will focus on non-invasive diagnostic procedures like ultrasonography and Doppler Pressure and Flow measurements, prior to invasive interventions.8221;
