* The shraddha ceremony of Shailendra Kumar Tiwary will be held on December 14 at D-6, Customs Quarters, Katrak Road, Wadala. Tiwary, Assistant Commissioner , Customs and Central Excise (Mumbai) passed away on December 2 at the age of 48. Competition

* Shaikh Adam Abuwala Smarak Trust will be holding an all-India ghazal singing competition in Urdu, Hindi and Gujarati in February 1998 at Ahmedabad. The competition is open to persons in the age group of 17-30. Calangute meet

* The annual Thanksgiving Mass of the Calangute Welfare Association will be celebrated on December 14 at the St Theresa’s school, Bandra. The mass will be followed by a social gathering of the Calangutkars.
