
Ideal Book Depot gets award
The Federation of Indian Publishers FIP, a national organisation, has selected Dadar8217;s Ideal Book Depot for its first award for the best book seller. The award will be given away in a function to be held at Pune on February 21.
Ideal Book Depot has been selected as the best over 49 other bookstores from all over the country. The FIP considered the fact that the bookstore did not keep its relations with its customers confined to those between a dealer and a customer. The FIP organises a conference of publishers once every year. It will take place in Pune8217;s Maratha Chamber Padmaji Auditorium on February 20 and 21.
Ideal has organised several novel schemes in the past. It has started a vachak gaurav scheme. The scheme has been a success not just with the urban educated but with the rural masses as well.
Varsity to mask8217; answer sheets
The University of Mumbai will mask8217; the answer sheets of engineering examinations from this year. Students8217; identities willbe kept a secret from examiners and moderators. The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the varsity, Dr Naresh Chandra, said this is part of the university8217;s exam reform programme. Last year, masking was done for the first time with commerce and law examinations.
Reiki workshop at Santacruz

Mission appeals for funds
The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Society, which runs several schools in Jamshedpur, has appealed for funds to construct six buildings for its new English medium schools as well as to repair existing buildings. Repairs are estimated at Rs nine crore. Donations are exempt of Income Tax under section 80 G of the Income Tax Act 1961.
