
Nature camp at Corbett Park
The World Wide Fund for Nature-India is organising a nature education camp at the Jim Corbett National Park, situated at the foothills of the Himalayas. The park boasts of more than 560 species of birds, and also has elephant rides and jeep rides.
The camp will be held between April 17 April and 25. For details, call on 2075142/2078105/2071970 between 10 to 5 pm from Monday to Friday by February 10.
Campaign on clean environment
Vasundhara, an NGO working in the field of environment, has been conducting a campaign in Bandra E to create environment consciousness among residents and motivate them to keep their surroundings clean. This year, the campaign has been scheduled for February 12. The programme will be held between 8 am and 1 pm at the Kharnagar Municipal Secondary School No-2, Kharnagar, Bandra E.
Train to Tirupati gets a name
The Kolhapur-Tirupati Express has been named the Haripriya Express, announced the minister of state forrailways, Ram Naik, in New Delhi today. Naik had appealed to passengers to suggest a name for the train while flagging it off. Among the 2,288 entries that came in, citizens suggested 4,957 names. Haripriya8217; was suggested by Jayashree Shete and B P Talwalkar from Kolhapur. The citizens will both be given first class return travel from Kolhapur to Tirupati along with their spouse, children and parents.
Vice-president for MHADA
Subodh Kumar has been appointed as the vice-president and chief executive officer of the Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority. Before his appointment, Kumar had served as sales tax commissioner.
