  • Kranti Divas was observed at August Kranti Maidan on Sunday. Prabhat feries and singing of patriotic songs were organised at the maidan, as politicians, freedom fighters, senior citizens and youth visited the historic site.
  • WWF workshop on conservation

  • The World Wide Fund for Nature-India is organising a workshop on conservation on August 15 at Ruia College, Matunga. The workshop will focus on what common citizens can do to make a difference to the environment. It will include demonstrations on vermiculture and composting, discussions on solutions to urban problems such as plastic disposal and the importance of nature education.   • New LIC MDs take charge

  • G P Gohil and Y P Gupta took charge as new managing directors of the Life Insurance Corporation of India on August 7 at a function at Yogakshema. Priorto this, Gohil has been zonal manager of LIC8217;s western zone, while Gupta was chief executive of LIC Housing, an LIC subsidiary, said a press note.

  • Career guidance seminar
