Six DCPs transferred

The state government today ordered the transfer of six Deputy Commissioner of Police DCPs with immediate effect from Thursday.

Param Bir Singh has been transferred from Zone II to the Special Operation Squad attached the police headquarters. He will be replaced by Dr K Venkateshan, formerly DCP zone X. Sanjay Barve has been relocated from Zone VIII as DCP headquarters. S D Date will replace him.

DCP K P Shelar has been shifted from Special Branch I security to Zone X, and P S Patankar from L-Branch III will replace him.

Builder killed at Oshiwara

Three unidentified men shot dead a builder at Oshiwara in the early hours of Thursday. At around 12.30 am, as Navnath Vithal More was heading home on his motorcycle, three men intercepted his bike near Behram Baug and opened fire at him.
