
HC order against private firm
The Bombay High Court has ordered impounding of passports of the directors of Libra Plantations Ltd on a petition by Securities and Exchange Board of India. In a statement on Monday, SEBI said the High Court granted an ad-interim relief on May 29 and further ordered that the directors of the company should not leave Mumbai city without the permission of the court.
The company had argued that a provisional liquidator had already been appointed by the High Court in another proceeding, SEBI said.
Drug peddler arrested
The narcotics cell of the Mumbai police have arrested a drug-peddler from Mahalaxmi area on Monday.
Following the tip-off that in a hutment near Dhobi Ghat some contraband was stored for delivery, the police officers from the narcotics cell laid at a trap around the hutment. The police party succeeded in arresting one Nizamuddin Ansari with 2 kgs of brown sugar worth Rs 4 lakh.
