Donation for PM8217;s relief fund
J M Mehra, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune region and O P Srivastava, Member Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes presented cheques of Rs 5.14 lakh to Yashwant Sinha, Union Finance Minister towards the Prime Minister8217;s National Relief Fund for the Kargil War Heroes at the North Block on August 27. The amount was raised through voluntary contributions made by the Income-tax personnel of the Pune Region.
New head for publishers8217; body n S C SETHI of Jaico Publishing House, New Delhi took over as president of the Federation of Publishers8217; amp; Booksellers Association in India at its annual general meeting on September 23. Sethi said the Association would give a boost to the book industry in India and strive to uphold the norms and ethics of the publishing profession.
Programme on leadership

SBI donates to Vedanta institute
State Bank of India recently donated a sum of Rs 4,06,000 to Vedanta Cultural Foundation. Shri S K Hariharan, General Manager CB, State Bank of India, Mumbai Circle handed over the cheque to A Kausalya, trustee of the Foundation.
The donation of Rs 4,06,000 has been given to the institution for purchase of equipment like mike system, generator etc required for running the Vedanta Academy.
