
Advani, Swaraj to campaign
Star campaigners of the BJP, Union Home Minister LK Advani and former information amp; broadcasting minister Sushma Swaraj, will lend their weight to the party8217;s campaign in Maharashtra for the forthcoming general election. They will address four public meetings each across the state between June 5 and 15; exact venues are yet to be decided.The election management committee has also given the green signal for the use of music cassettes and other publicity material to be employed during the campaign. Party spokesperson Prakash Javdekar said that the central issue in all election meetings till June 15 would be the absolute helplessness and sycophancy in the Congress as seen in the last ten days.
Sessions court judge dead
Sitting judge of Bombay City, Civil and Sessions Court P M Joshi died at his south Mumbai residence on Wednesday night following a massive heart attack. He was 57 and is survived by his wife, a son and daughter. His mortal remains were cremated onThursday. A large number of judges and advocates condoled the death of the judge.Joshi was appointed judge on June 6, 1994 and was recently handling cases under the NDPS Act. Principal Session Jugde A S Augiar said that in Justice Joshi he has lost a good friend and added that his demise will be felt in court rooms.
Bravery award to soldier
Swatantrayaveer Savarkar Shaurya Puraskar will be presented to Kirti Chakra winner Havaldar Badrilal Lunawat of 10 PARA Special Forces on Friday at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak in Dadar, central Mumbai. The award will be presented by Lt.Gen Retd R V Kulkarni. The award carries a cash award of Rs 10,000, a commemorative medal and a citation.
