According to police, Helen Charlie Gomes 39 committed suicide on May 11 around 12.30 pm after dousing herself with kerosene. She died of 100 per cent burns. Investigations have revealed Helen Gomes was harassed by her in-laws who pressured her to bring dowry. When she refused, they threatened her with dire consequences. Fed up of the harassment, Helen committed suicide. Police arrested Helen8217;s husband Charlie Comes, mother-in-law Mary 51, father-in-law Joseph and sister-in-law Rita.

Five quacks arrested

Deonar police have nabbed five quacks after many complaints against them by the local people. The arrested are identified as Dr Udayraj Patel, Dr Shivprasad Shukla, Dr Rambali Kashyap, Dr Siyaram Patel, and Dr Chandrakesh Vishwakarma. Police found the doctors8217; certificates were bogus and the registrar ofMaharashtra Council of Indian Medicine has verified that none of them were registered under the council .
