PUNE, Jan 5: The Additional District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum has ordered the Chief Engineer, MSEB, Rasta Peth and the supervisor and sub engineer, MSEB, Manchar, to continue supply of electricity to Vijay Atmaram Subandh of Manchar writing off dues prevailing till the date of order and pay him Rs 10,000 as compensation for deficiency in service.

According to the complaint filed by Subandh who is a ready made clothes dealer, as per the bill dated December 26, 1992, given to him by the MSEB, he had cleared his current payment. Subsequently, he received a bill dated March 20, 1993 for three months where current reading was shown as 6870 instead of 6510 due to wrong feeding to computer. With this reading the subsequent bills suffered incorrect consumption charges.

The MSEB did not rectify the mistake despite it being brought to their notice repeatedly and the complainant8217;s connection was discontinued. In another case, the forum president K R Pawar and members A S Kote and N V Pote have delivered a judgement ordering J R Kankhar of Saurabh Construction to pay T S Sivarama Krishnan, a resident of Pradhikaran, Rs 32,000 with 18 per cent interest from June 25, 1998 to the date of the order for deficiency in service.

According to Krishnan he had given construction work in plot number 25/2 of Bajaj Auto Housing Society to the construction firm for building two rooms and a car parking for Rs 1.65 lakh under agreement dated November 27, 1997. Though he paid Rs 1,92,700 the builder failed to carry out the job properly. He sent a letter to the builder to complete the items or return Rs 35,000 but after no response, filed the complaint.
