Mob assaults ASI in police station

NADIAD, Aug 30: Assistant Sub-inspector Shanabhai Khant was assaulted by a group of 10 inside the Kathal police station on Sunday night. The assailants were infuriated over the delay in despatching police force to a nearby village where two persons were engaged in body blows.

Police sources said the accused, Amjabhai Patel, along with nine others barged into Kathal police station and informed the police personnel that two persons were fighting in Anara village. Tempers ran high when Amjabhai ordered8217; ASI Khant to rush to the village and arrest the two.
