Maha Intrepreneurs honoured

Maha Intrepreneur 2008, a programme featuring professionals who display a high level of entrepreneurial qualities while in service and the same passion and leadership qualities as any entrepreneur was recently organised by Praj Industries as part of its silver jubilee celebrations.

Maha Intrepreneur 2008, a programme featuring professionals who display a high level of entrepreneurial qualities while in service and the same passion and leadership qualities as any entrepreneur was recently organised by Praj Industries as part of its silver jubilee celebrations.

As part of the event, Dr S Sivaram, director, National Chemical Laboratory, Prakash Kulkarni, executive chairman, Gaberial India and Dr Dhananjay Kelkar, medical director, Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Research Centre and trustee of Jnana Prabodhini Medical Trust were awarded the Maha Intrepreneur award 2008. Kishor Choukar gave away the awards.

The event addressed various aspects of intrapreneurship, its importance in career building, organisational perspective, long and short term impact, risk-taking ability, mentoring of intrapreneurs and many other nuances of this paradigm in talent management and organisational development. Pramod Chaudhari, chairman, Praj Group, said, 8220;The term 8216;intrepreneurship8217; has not received as much recognition as it should. Introduced almost twenty five years ago, this term assumes even more importance in today8217;s challenging times.8221;

Praj Industries has also instituted the 8216;Praj-Symbiosis Maha-Intrepreneur8217; Award that will identify and reward professionals who display 8216;intrepreneurial8217; qualities in terms of actions and results in various organisations. The award will be implemented in partnership with Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune and will be called the. Initially, this award will invite nominations from organizations within Maharashtra.

Kishor Chaukar, managing director, Tata Industries, Milind Sarwate, chief of HR and Strategy, Marico, Vikas Shirodkar, vice president-HR, Johnson and Johnson, Gautam Nigvekar, chief operating officer, Mahindra and Mahindra; Ravi Deshpande, chairman and chief creative officer, contract advertising and Yashashree Gurjar, general manager CSR, BILT were present for the award.
