It was a much-waited moment for the director as she hoped that this launch would further augment its viewer ship that remained restricted due to limited screenings. 8220;Two years ago I released this film with subtitles so that it could reach everyone across the globe. I never considered it as a Marathi film. The protagonist in my film is an Indian woman. The story is in Bengali, I read it in Hindi and made in Marathi. The behavioral model shown in the film is found in every women everywhere, even the modern women has those traits. People should not restrict themselves to the narrative but also look at things beyond the patterns. However it is still the Hindi and English films that rule but I dream of a day when any film in any language will be accepted and accessible to a multiple audience,8221; adds Palekar.nbsp;

Kulkarni shared how her passion for cinema had been much shaped by Palekar. 8220;She has taught me what is cinema and how to choose and appreciate it. It is remarkable working with her because she has a fantastic sense of time, spontaneity and is full of life. People are eager to see my work but the DVDs aren8217;t available in the market and to cater to these increasing viewers such prospects are very essential,8221; says Kulkarni.

Palekar also shared her views on the need to perceive entertainment through wider issues. Adding further she says, 8220;What we still haven8217;t learnt is to interpret the definition of entertainment in a broader way. It can also hold the power to stimulate you, shake you and make you think. When Maati Maay was released in theatres its screening has been replaced by a popular Hindi Film. The time slot too would be inconvenient for the audience to watch. Regional languages are slightly considered inferior here but when you go abroad with these film you don8217;t represent the Hindi film Industry, you represent India.8221;
