The premise for License to Wed is that considering the high divorce rate, it is better to put couples through a series of tests before the D-day to see if they could survive the real thing. Perhaps the same could be applied to movies. Why not put some story ideas through some tests before throwing good money after bad?
For example, who came up with the bright idea of designing horrific robotic babies who wail, puke and defecate a bluish pasty thing in order to test a couple8217;s readiness for kids? Or having a child think and talk like a minister, and break into someone8217;s house to place a bug? Or having a priest even consider bugging a couple8217;s apartment? Or having a perfectly sensible woman ignore all this proof and still believe in the 8220;good8221; Reverend? Or having someone drive through city blindfolded as her wannabe groom acts as 8220;her eyes8221;, in a test of dependability?
Yes, marriage is difficult. But at least no one expects you to drive blindfold.
