Why they kill

8226; I REFER to Muzamil Jaleel8217;s 8216;Reality hits home8217; IE, July 22. The writer thinks that Indians are being killed because of Babri Masjid demolition, Bombay riots, Gujarat riots. I want them to answer the question why Kashmiri Pandits were targeted. They were thrown out of their own land though living in a Hindu majority country. They did not kill Kashmiri Muslims or rioted against them. Are these Pandits bombing PoK or Pakistan? Are they pointing the finger at Indian Muslims? Why were ordinary Americans and Londoners targeted? Did they riot against Muslims? In fact they are lands of opportunity, giving equal rights to all. Why don8217;t terrorists fight the soldiers who attack them or the leaders who attack their land? Let me answer. It8217;s a fight between believers and non-believers. It is jihad. It is funded by rich believers and being fought by poor believers. Organised religions of this world are fighting for supremacy and India is a soft target.

What happened in Gujarat is deplorable. But that in no way justifies the Mumbai blasts. One is tempted to ask the writer how many Kashmiri pandits joined militancy after the community was driven out of the Valley in 1990. Weren8217;t the Kashmiri Hindus subjected to genocide at the hands of Pakistan sponsored militants? The jihadis aim at a Pan-Islamic world order. What else explains the killing of innocent school children in Beslan by Islamic Chechyan militants or the London bombings? It8217;s time liberals came to terms with the fact that Islamic terrorism sponsored by rogue states like

Pakistan, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia is the biggest threat to humanity.

8226; MUJAMIL Jaleel 8216;Reality hits home8217; has the theory that riots are the reason for Indian Muslims joining fundamentalist forces. There are almost 6 lakh Hindu refugees in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, coming from Doda to Surankote to Kashmir. Five thousand Hindus have been killed by terrorists. Even last week a family of five including two teenage girls were killed by terrorists in Punch. Why didn8217;t these people ever think of killing Muslims? Why did they not attack mosques in Hindu dominated areas? Because only a sick mind would do so. Assigning motives to violence of any form is akin to justifying it.

While Pakistan is gradually gaining an international reputation for harbouring and training jehadi terrorists on its soil, India too is losing ground in its struggle against Pakistan sponsored terrorism on Indian soil.

Our approach and policy on terrorism is not only inconsistent but it lacks clarity too. After every terrorist violence we point the finger at Pakistan and threaten to discontinue peace dialogue but soon afterwards 8216;in the interest of the sub-continent8217; we suppress our protests and anger against Pakistan8217;s complicity in terror-linked violence. This causes confusion rather than support for India against terrorism at the international level, besides raw public anger at home.
