Amid the conversations around toxic work culture in India, a Bengaluru manager is winning hearts after he surprised his employee for achieving an Instagram milestone. Aiswarya, the employee, crossed 2,000 followers on the social media platform, following which her boss and team surprised her with a cake.

In the now-viral video, Aiswarya walks into a conference room where her colleagues and her boss welcome her with a cake. The handwritten message on the whiteboard reads, “Happy 2K followers. Congratulations Aishu.” As the video progresses, she cuts the cake with her team.

Sharing the video, Aiswarya wrote, “One of the things I have been truly lucky to have in my corporate journey is a great boss, someone who consistently motivates you to try new things, gives you the support you need, and provides the push to grow. That support has been something I’m deeply grateful for throughout my corporate journey.”

“Because of it, I was able to learn more, grow more, and gain new opportunities and skills. I’m forever grateful. And thanks to my dearest friend for always supporting me and making this journey more beautiful,” she added.

The video quickly gained traction, leaving several social media users in disbelief. “Proof that the right boss can turn pressure into progress,” a user wrote. “Boss from ‘Parallel’ universe,” another user commented.

“Alas I wish our parents were this supportive,” a third user reacted.

In August, a Gen Z employee sparked a discussion around work-life balance after she called out “toxicity in the name of hard work”. In the viral video, she shared how her manager asked her to stay beyond her shift timings by giving her last-minute work. She added that her manager cited his own example, sharing how he managed to come to work despite being on a train the entire night.
