Lecture held

CHANDIGARH, Sept 4: Increase D spending on Research and Development was stressed by the Director General of Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research CSIR, R A Mashelkar at a lecture at the Institute of Microbial Technology here today. Dr Mashelkar was delivering the Prof B K Bachawat Memorial lecture quot;On launching the Indian Innovation movementquot;.

He stated that scientific innovations are needed in the age of technology and those who do not innovate would perish. He also called upon industrialists to participate in research activities in a bigger way. Earlier, the director of IMTECH, Dr Amit Ghosh welcomed the guests.
