A crowd of crouching close-in fielders and hidden demons in the pitch. It8217;s a scenario that Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh dream of during the closing stages of a game. Add to that the pressure on the batsmen to chase an improbable target of 378, with the top order back in the pavilion, and the Rest of India spin duo couldn8217;t have asked for more.

The Kumble-Harbhajan combination saw to it that Delhi, who were 113-3 overnight, were bowled before lunch on the fourth day on Saturday. As Kumble 3-19 and Harbhajan 4-31 took centrestage, Rest recorded a 187-run win.

With all the focus on the stars, chances are that one might forget the performance of Delhi leggie Chetanya Nanda, who picked up eight wickets, including the two known masters of spin 8212; Dravid and VVS Laxman. Though his chances of making the Test side are negligible, he can stake a claim to the A team after his effort.

The other stand-out performer for the losing team was Gambhir. Despite the fact that wickets fell at regular intervals at the other end, he fought on Saturday, continuing to play aggressively before falling for 91, edging one from Kumble to Dhoni behind the stumps.

About his knock, Gambhir said: 8220;I would8217;ve been happier had we won. But we were playing against almost the full India side.8221;

Sehwag8217;s migraine

Delhi coach Vijay Dahiya cleared the air about Virender Sehwag8217;s departure home late on Friday night. 8220;He had a migraine and that is why he left. Before going he took the permission of India coach Gary Kirsten.8221;

Acting on a complaint filed by Sehwag, Munaf Patel was fined 75 per cent of his match fee by match-referee Rajendra Jadeja. Munaf had had an altercation with Delhi batsmen on the second day of the game.
