MELBOURNE: Manoj Kothari managed to scrape through in his crucial match for group supremacy. Bolton the Australian teenager played like a champion from the start and succeeded with many of the difficult shots for over an hour to restrict his more experienced and better rated adversary. Bolton ran up breaks of 104 and 104 to be ahead by over two hundred points after ninety minutes of play.

Kothari had to use all his experience to slow down the youngster. For the best part of the third hour they were level as they replied each other with breaks below the hundred mark.

Kothari then struck with breaks of 226 and 104 to take a sizeable lead of over 350 points with about half an hour left.

Bolton put up a very spirited display to come within 32 points when he played a shot hurriedly only to leave the red over the mouth of the pocket. Kothari grabbed the chance and ran up a 41 to play out time.

The Final Scores 8212; Kothari 1334-Bolton 1261.

Subhash Agrawal continued his mammoth scoring againstDinky8217; Suares. Agrawal dominated the table for most part of the four hours while scoring a massive 2560 while Suares scored 603.

Robbie Foldvari started with a 120, had a break of 259 and finished the first session in just 21 visits to lead 729-234 over Phil Martin of Ireland.

He kept blazing ahead after the break. Towards the end of the match he ran up a 400 to finish the match, 2069-452.

Davind Collins also of Australia led R Milicich of New Zealand 924-353 after the first session while Arun Agarwal led 963-141 against Steve Hall also of Australia with breaks of 106, 110, 146 and 238.

Neil Croft who led by just over a hundred points at the halfway mark against Nalin Patel in the first session saw his lead vanish when play was resumed. Patel rattled up a 197 within minutes after resumption to take over the reins and soon increased his lead to over 300 points.

With the clock ticking away Nalin tried hard to increase his pace only to miss simple shots and Croft slowed down his game strategically toresort to the losing hazard game for a break of 42 to run out of time.
