MUMBAI, October 29: Khalwadekar brothers, Akash and Ambar in the under-10 section and Amar Kamath in the open category lead the field with six wins from six rounds in the Bournvita Inter-Schools Chess Tournament being conducted by the Kalina Recreation Centre and Sports Club and Mumbai Chess Association at the Don Bosco School, Matunga here today.
Akash defeated Entrants Division champion, Niharika Thakkar in the second board while Ambar won in the third board over Sachin Bedekar. On the top board, Rohil Bhat and Aditya Vora drew their games to share the second spot (5.5 points).
In the open category, Sagar Masurekar, Raj Parakh, Vaibhav Saxena and Devendra Sathe share the second spot with 5.5 points each.
