Over 5,400 MoUs worth Rs 5.78 lakh crore signed at Vibrant Gujarat regional conference in Rajkot, minister says. (File)
A TOTAL of 5,492 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth a total of Rs5.78 lakh crore were signed at the two-day Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) of Saurashtra-Kutch in Rajkot, said minister Jitu Vaghani.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the first of four VGRCs, organised at Marwadi University, Vaghani said, “A solid roadmap has been prepared by the state government to develop Saurashtra and Kutch by the year 2047. When PM Narendra Modi started Vibrant Gujarat in the year 2003, he had to face many criticisms, but due to his firm belief and vision, Gujarat and India are making great strides in development today.”
A statement from the state government quoted Vaghani saying, “During the first Vibrant Gujarat in the year 2003, only 80 MoUs worth Rs 66,000 crore were signed. In contrast, today, in this regional conference held in Rajkot, 5,492 MoUs worth Rs 5.78 lakh crore have been signed. These figures and the participation of many countries show the unwavering trust in the Prime Minister. Aspects such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, Startup India and Make in India are being realized under the leadership of the Prime Minister, which will directly benefit the industrialists and units of Gujarat.”
The minister urged more industrial units and citizens to take advantage of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition organised till January 15.
The book “Kutch & Saurashtra: Anchoring Gujarat’s vision” was released at the closing ceremony which was attended by Minister Arjun Modhwadia, Dr Hasmukh Adhia who is the Principal Adviser to Gujarat CM, ACS Revenue Dr Jayanti Ravi, Siddharth Gupta of L&T Electrolysers, Parakramsinh Jadeja of Jyoti CNC, and VP Vaishnav of the Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
