CHENNAI, Aug 15: Top seed Vijay Kannan of Delhi and second-seeded S Zaman of West Bengal won their semi-final matches in contrasting styles here today to set up a title clash in the MCC-IOB National Junior Hard Court Tennis Championship tomorrow.

While favourite Vijay Kannan had to pull off his best to oust a strong challenge from local lad Manoj Mahadevan 7-6 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, Zaman had a rather easy outing against high flying Parantap Chaturvedi of Delhi winning 6-2, 6-4.

A disputed point in the decider, which went in favour of Vijay, who was serving 3-4 and leading 40-0, shook the concentration of Manoj, who lost the serve in his next game before the former closed out the game. ResultsBoys singles semi-finals: Vijay kannan Delhi bt Manoj Mahadevan TN 7-6 7-5, 3-6, 6-4; S Zaman Calcutta bt Parantap Chaturvedi Delhi 6-2, 6-4.
