ROME, May 25: Juventus of Turin won the Italian title by drawing 1-1 at Atalanta last evening, a result which left them seven points clear of runners-up Parma, who have only two games left in their season.
Juve deserved to win the title after dominating this year8217;s Serie A, conceding just three defeats and 22 goals in 33 Serie A games so far.The intercontinental Cup winners clinched their 24th Scudetto during the 100th anniversary of Italy8217;s most successful ever football club.
Young defender Mark Juliano proved to be the man-of-the-match, clinching the crucial point by equalising Atalanta8217;s first half goal in the 54th.
In the 19th minute, Serie A top scorer Filippo Superpippo Inzaghi decided to display some of his class.
But the inevitable occurred nine minutes after the game, when Juliano headed in an equaliser worth the Italian title.
AT MUNICH: Bayern munich clinched a record 14th German soccer championship today when they beat VFB Stuttgart 4-2 on the penultimate day of the season.
