RANCHI, NOV 8: A JMM(U) delegation will soon call on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Union home Minister L K Advani to press for creation of a separate Jharkhand/Vananchal state before the coming Assembly polls in Bihar, a senior leader of the party said. The decision to send the delegation to New Delhi was taken at a meeting of JMM(U) central committee at Ramgarh near here recently, a release by party general secretary Sudhir Mahato said here on Monday.A resolution adopted at the meeting said JMM(U) would launch a mass agitation in the region if the BJP-led NDA Government at the centre failed to fulfill the ``regional aspiration for a separate state'' before the Assembly elections in the State, the release said.``The so-called national parties are busy politicking in the name of separate state and JMM(U) alone has the willingness and the commitment to fight for the creation of a separate Jharkhand/Vananchal state,'' he said. The meeting also held JMM(S) president Sibu Soren responsible for the failure of the efforts initiated by JMM(U) prior to the Lok Sabha polls to unify tribal parties to avert a split in the pro-statehood votes in the region and resolved to continue its endeavour in the direction.
