MUMBAI, OCT 21: Controversial former housing minister Sureshdada Jain on Thursday said that he would give a fitting reply to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray in the event of the latter humiliating him for obvious political reasons.
8220;I have not caused any damage to the party. If someone is criticising me for no reason, then I will not be a silent spectator. I will give a fitting reply,8221; Jain told media persons. Jain pointed out that Thackeray had made an indirect reference to him while addressing the Dussera rally which was 8220;unacceptable8221;. 8220;It is wrong to find scapegoats for the alliance8217;s failure to retain power,8221; Jain remarked.
Jain said that when the top leaders of the Sena-BJP alliance were assessing the possibility of forming the government, two BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari and Eknath Khadse had proposed his name for the Chief Minister8217;s post, since it was clear that neither Narayan Rane nor Gopinath Munde were in a position to stake claim. 8220;It is wrong to blame me if someone else proposes myname for the coveted post,8221; he added.
Jain claimed that since he had ensured the victory of two MPs and 10 legislators in Jalgaon district, it was improper of the party to cast aspersions on him. 8220;In the event of me being expelled from the party, I will quit my assembly seat and contest again from the same constituency,8221; he said.
