LONDON, June 14: All-rounder Jacques Kallis should be fit to return for South Africa8217;s semi-final against Australia at Edbaston on Thursday.

The right-hander was absent from the side that lost to the Aussies at Headingley because of a stomach injury, but his importance to the South African side is very high.

8220;When you lose Jacques, you lose two cricketers 8212; a batsman and bowler. It8217;s very difficult to replace him,8221; said captain Hanse Cronje.

Kallis was replaced by Nicky Boje and the left-arm spinner proved expensive.The South African have Kallis to open the bowling for much of the tournament, optin to have either Allan Donald or Shaun Pollock as the change.

If South Africa will be buoyed by the return of Kallis, Pakistan, who play New Zealand in the first semi-final on Wednesday, will middle-order batsman Yousuf Youhana who is nursing a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old, who has averaged 53.66 with the willow in the tournament, will aim to recover for the final, providing his team can overcomethe Kiwis.Coach Mushtaq Mohammad told reporters at the Oval that he watched the hard-hitting batsman in the nets, but decided not to risk him.

8220;I feel we can manage with the same combination that beat Zimbabwe last week,8221; Mushtaq said. 8220;Youhana would be a greater asset to the team if we reached the final,8221; he added.

The Pakistan coach would not be underestimating the New Zealand challenge, but described the semi-final clash as 8220;an easier game that the other one.8221;Mushtaq, however, confirmed that three other players on the injured list, Ijaz Ahmed, wicket-keeper Moin Khan and Inzamam-ul-Haq, had recovered.
